Welcome to Anna's World...

Biography

Anna was born in Rye, NY but raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Growing up in Palo Alto she was exposed from an early age to progressive thinking and environmental action. Her love of the outdoors was fostered in summer camps and the many parks and wilderness preserves in the Bay Area. This early awareness of conservation was put on hold as Anna developed her love of music, dance, and teaching.

Anna double majored in English and Music at Yale University - intending to become an orchestral and choral conductor. However, she fell in love with dance, and performed and taught with the Yale Ballroom Dance Team and with Stanford's Decadance.

Anna greatly enjoyed her dancing, competing, and teaching years. She was blessed with a very supportive studio that helped her become certified with the DVIDA national dance organization. As well, she had many wonderful private students who were a joy to work with and traveled with her, performing and competing, all over the world.

Anna was a guest instructor at Yale University and Stanford University, and even traveled to teach as far away as Sydney, Australia! She won numerous top teacher awards at her studio, Starlite Dance Club, and at various national dance competitions. Anna and her partner Gavin performed in such places as Puerto Rico and Las Vegas. Anna truly enjoys teaching and dancing, and will continue to do so as time allows.

However in the past year or so, Anna's attention has turned to the many glaring problems in the world around her. The political situation of the past seven years has more and more alarmed her. As well, the state of America's health and fitness truly shock and sadden Anna. Finally, the frightening reality of global warming tipped Anna into changing her life.

Anna believes that it is time to do something with her energy and time that will pass on a greater legacy to the next generation. After careful review of her options, she decided to take a position in sales and business development at Sun First Solar, based in San Rafael. She is excited by this prospect as it will give her a chance to do hands on work that directly lessens global warming.

There is much to be done to repair this country, its people, and the world. Anna hopes to do a small part in that greater process.
