Acterra

It all started at the Whole Foods check out counter. Anna (being the good green girl that she is) got the 10 cent discount for having her own reusable bag on hand to carry her groceries. She decided to donate the ten cents to whichever organization was listed, and thus heard of Acterra

Since then Anna has volunteered at Acterra's solar festival in Palo Alto and their CFL distribution drive in Sunnyvale. She is currently acting as the volunteer coordinator for their annual fundraiser, Party for the Planet.

This year's Party for the Planet will be held on May 3, 2008 at the University Club. It will include dinner, dancing, and a silent auction. If you are interested in volunteering to help with this event, please contact Anna. There are many possible jobs for helpers, ranging from soliticing donation items for the silenct auction, to day of setup or clean up. Any amount of time would be helpful, you do not need to dedicate your life!

As well, if you have an item that would be suitable for the silent auction, please contact Anna. Item's auctioned in past years include such things as: tickets to a local show or seminar, a bottle / case of fine wine, a gift certificate to a local restaurant, or a weekend at a condo or retreat.
