Welcome to the ever dynamic world of Anna Botelho (formerly Anne Remsen).  I am so excited to announce my new position as dance program manager at Google headquarters in Mountain View!

The new dance studio / program has been 3/4 of a year in the works, and I would like to thank Newton, Josh, Sue, and Varant for their tireless work in helping make this new program happen!  It’s been a big team effort and everyone has been great at doing their part to support dance at Google.

Google is building a full dance studio on campus that will feature a beautiful, large, sprung wood dance floor, a stellar sound system, mirrors, and lots of windows for natural light.  I will be in the studio M-F to help out with lunch and evening classes.

We will be continuing to offer all of the usual dance classes in the main campus gym (Hip Hop, Around the World, and Zumba).  The dance studio classes will be in addition to these offerings.  There will be many new G2G dance classes (Googlers teaching Googlers), and some new GFit dance and fitness classes (including yoga).  I will be posting the final schedule soon.

What does this mean for the rest of my life?  I really want to continue as many of my other classes as possible, but they will have to be in the mornings or weekends.  I want to keep in touch with teachers and students outside of Google so I don’t become to insular inside the Google bubble (which happens quite easily).  My classes at Reach and Equinox will continue unchanged.  My Oracle Bollywood class will move to the morning.  My Monday classes at Vivre will shift a little earlier, and Lu will be covering the Tuesday evening class.  I am sorry to have to shift things around, but I am glad to be able to keep teaching in these various locations.

With all that said, hope you are enjoying the group classes or private lessons.  If you would like to schedule a private lesson with me, please email me at dancer at gmail dot com.

If you are looking for videos of the dance routines from class, I would recommend going to the tabs on the upper right corner of this page, clicking on “class updates” and selecting the class you are interested in.  Then you will get only the videos and announcements that are relevant to your class.

As well, this is the place to check in on the various projects that Anna is keeping herself busy with (travel, musings, etc.)

Please feel free to add your comments and thoughts!  I love to hear from you all.
