Welcome to the ever dynamic world of Anna Botelho (formerly Anne Remsen).  I am currently working as the Dance Program Manager at Google, and teaching only at Google.

The Google dance studio (or the Danceplex) was proposed in May of 2009, and opened in January 2010.  We started with 14 classes per week and have grown to 26 classes per week.  I would like to thank Newton, Josh, Sue, and Varant for their tireless work in helping make this new program happen!  It’s been a big team effort and everyone has been great at doing their part to support dance at Google.

The Danceplex features a beautiful, large, sprung wood dance floor, a stellar sound system, mirrors, and lots of windows for natural light.  I teach only 7 seven classes (this is down from 2 or 3 times as many a year ago!) and spend a lot of time managing the many other teachers, classes, and new dance program interns.

We continue to offer many dance and fitness classes in the main campus gym (CardioPOP, Around the World, and Zumba).  The dance studio classes are in addition to these offerings.  The majority of our classes in The Danceplex are “G2G” dance classes (Googlers teaching Googlers), and cover such diverse styles as ballet, bhangra, and breakdancing.  We have also had some superstar professional instructors teach at The Danceplex, including Shaira Bhan (Bollywood), Carla Heiney (Lindy Hop Swing), and Steve Vasco (Latin Ballroom).

The Danceplex has already had 3 very successful dance shows (one in March, one in May, and most recently on August 12th).

Unfortunately I am not able to teach outside of Google right now on a regular basis, but I do occasionally teach at Friday Night Waltz or Stanford Dance Weekends.  If you have a special request please let me know.

If you are looking for videos of the dance routines from class, I would recommend going to the tabs on the upper right corner of this page, clicking on “class updates” and selecting the class you are interested in.  Then you will get only the videos and announcements that are relevant to your class.

As well, this is the place to check in on the various projects that Anna is keeping herself busy with (travel, musings, etc.)

Please feel free to add your comments and thoughts!  I love to hear from you all.
